More Money Management Bitching or I'm an impulsive moron.

So we work the late "swing" shift which is to say we work 8-4 monday, thursday, and sunday. We work 9-5 friday and saturday. Boon to this shift, I have a lot of freedom. I probably have too much free time actually. That late night though our casino is kinda not all that busy. Half the time, we're asked if we want to go home one hour early. We almost always say Yes! Well this paycheck I did the math... We went home early 5 freaking times. After taxes cost of our one hour early out was 85 freaking dollars. 85 freaking dollars per pay check... 26 pay checks a year... 2200 dollars! For what? What the hell am I going to do with my extra hour at 3 or 4 in the morning? Not a whole freaking lot, and I have too much free time on my hands as it is! And worst... as a dealer. We work one hour then take a 20 minute break! 1/3 of my early out hour, I would have spent on the couch in the breakroom watching tv! Not to mention we're more than likely going to get out 15 till! We can't let a game start on a dead table when we're going home! I'm giving up 20 easy dollars! EASY and for what? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING I'm giving it away it's sickening. It's so hard to say no when asked if you want to go home early, but really it's retarded to say yes.

That's not all of the "I'm a freaking moron" stupidity math I did with this paycheck. I glanced at my earnings for the.. 3 months I've been working at the South Coast... and my taxes.. and my set bills. Here's how this moronic shit breaks down. 10,155 in wages ... 2,017 in taxes(NO STATE INCOME TAX MIND YOU!) ... 3,300 in mortgage/insurance/utilities ... 792 in car payments ... 126 in cell phone bills ... which leaves a grand total of 3920 spent in pure stupidity. PURE STUPIDITY PURE IMPULSIVE STUPIDITY. Things I have to show for this... I have a piano... and a new computer chair.... OHH I bought Veronica Mars and maybe two cds. The rest? EXPENDABLES... gas.. and eating out.. and gambling.. and drinking in 3 months time?!?!? I've spent how much money on stupid pointless shit? Grrrrr I need to get myself under control. Not having some cash is absurd. I'm spending way way way way way above sane means. It's beyond stupidity. I'm making plenty of money. I'm not drowning in too many bills. I'm just spending way too freaking money on... well gawd who knows what, but it needs to stop. I need to learn some self control.

I'm set up for my experiment. I cashed my check... won a free 5 dollar sports bet for cashing at a local casino.. (go coyotes! and then go kings! pays 25.60) ... I paid my utilities/insurance/mortgage.... I now have 140 in my wallet, and I'm going to hide all my debit and credit cards from myself.... or maybe get my brother to hide it from me... depends. :P


on the coyote note.. if they don't win tonight... they might as well commit mass suicide. it's the freaking blackhawks! if you can't beat the blackhawks... just.. kill yourselves, life just isn't worth living. yeah yeah our high hopes for you is actually make it to the playoffs but... beating the blackhawks comes standard with any shred of hope
