If you are going to lie and say that you can't come to work (8/21/2007) because you're at the hospital taking care of your sick mother, keep in mind that your boss has an Xbox Live membership and can see you playing Bioshock at home all day from her computer. Not to mention the fact that said boss has mentioned to you on numerous occasions that she's been using XBL messaging to keep in contact with a coworker in the building.

(For the record, I would have given him the time off anyway. I am a gamer and understand that Microsoft returned his repaired 360 just this weekend, plus it being BS launch day, and the fact that it was fairly convenient that we weren't too busy this week. However the lie...).

EDIT: I should mention that we've "friended" each other on XBL long ago so it's not like I was even checking up on him. I just noticed he was online...
